Symbol of protection, and auspicious symbol of good health & fortune. It was believed she would ride through the sky with the sun god Ra which was her father. At night she would turn into a cat to protect Ra from his enemy, Apep the serpent. Bastet is still worshipped today and her energy of protection is still believed to be casted over modern domesticated cats.
